About the event
As practitioners and teachers of yoga, we may know anecdotally the benefits of yoga and trauma, but find ourselves at a loss of how to explain the connection, or how to weave this wisdom into our teaching. In this training, participants will gain insights into trauma and our nervous systems, stress responses, self-regulation, and co-regulation techniques, preparing them to effectively respond to stressors in teaching environments. We will practice how to craft trauma-informed yoga classes, emphasizing predictability, emotional modifications, and inclusive language. We will explore the intersection of social justice and yoga, creating a brave space for questioning, discussion, and what interconnectedness really means regarding yoga philosophy.
With a wealth of provided resources, including yoga pose directories, and social justice vocabulary, you will leave this training feeling more equipped to facilitate healing-centered yoga spaces. This training is open to all yogis who are interested in the content and community healing. Teachers registered with yoga alliance can receive 20 CEU’s.
